ARTIST IN RESIDENCE, WARP, 2026

Alix Vernet intervenes in public space, casting building exteriors, public monuments, manhole covers, and other fragments of the urban landscape. Her work traces the rituals, apparitions, and disappearances contained in the material life of cities. Through long-term collaborations with official and unofficial custodians, from maintenance workers, museum conservators, pedestrians, and neighbors, she reveals the complex range of experiences contained within a singular site.

Vernet received an MFA from Yale University and a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has had solo exhibitions at Chapter NY and Helena Anrather, and she has presented work at Museion Bolzano, The Gund, Chapter NY, Anton Kern, Francois Ghebaly, Jeffrey Deitch, and Soft Opening.
