PARTNERED WITH WIDE ANGLE YOUTH MEDIA AND DEVIN ALLEN
FOCUS : FILM PHOTOGRAPHY
While on the road for FREE FILM : USA, WORTHLESSSTUDIOS collaborated with photographer Devin Allen and Wide Angle Youth Media in Baltimore, MD to host a youth photography program. WORTHLESSSTUDIOS provided all students with free rolls of film and, unless they brought own their own film camera, disposable cameras. The group spent 2 hours exploring and shooting film in Baltimore with accomplished photographer Devin Allen, a self-taught artist born and raised in West Baltimore who gained national attention when his photograph of the Baltimore Uprising was published on the cover of Time magazine in May 2015—only the third time the work of an amateur photographer had been featured. The day ended with an interactive artist panel of Devin Allen and the FREE FILM : USA team, a time when students could ask questions and hear valuable advice. The program served 10-15 youth aged 12-17 years old.
