On Friday, June 5, 1-800 Happy Birthday will present a public art installation in Latham Square, Oakland, in partnership with the City of Oakland and Oakland’s Cultural Affairs Division.  

The event will feature remarks from family members, project representatives, and local political figures. The phone booth on display will celebrate the heavenly birthdays of 14 Black and Brown victims of police violence, and will be installed in Latham Square for the summer.

Passersby will experience an installation that serves as a communal space to engage with the full humanity of the Celebrants, whose lives were stolen by state-sanctioned violence.

Join us 6-7 pm on Opening Day in Latham Square to celebrate the installation of the booth with community members and the City of Oakland.
